Class Description

Ballet - Conventional poses and steps combined with light flowing figures (as leaps & turns). Classical barre, center and movement steps.

Pointe - A ballet position in which the body is balanced on the extreme tip of the toe. Classical ballet steps and ballet pointe technique. By teacher invitation only. Any student taking pointe MUST take classical ballet.

Jazz - Moves such as kicks, splits, isolations, turns, leaps, etc.

Tap - A step dance tapped out audibly by means of shoes with hard soles and heels to which taps have been added.

Contemporary/Lyrical - A modern dance encompassing the use of balance, flexibility and control utilizing the lyrics or mood of the music.

Hip Hop - A type of "break dancing" using light rap type music, funky moves both standing and on the floor.

Pre-K Ballet - Simple ballet moves expressed through children's music and vocabulary with the use of props and basic diagrams.

Combo Classes - The combination of a tap or jazz with ballet. Each half of the class is devoted to a specific technique.

Tiny Tot Ballet - A 12 week program teaching very simple ballet moves expressed through children's music and vocabulary with the use of props and very basic diagrams.
